Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue are excited to announce the third installment of their Treme Threauxdown in New Orleans at the Saenger Theatre on April 29th, 2017. The direct-to-fan pre-sale starts at 10 AM CST on Wednesday January 18, 2017. CLICK HERE for pre-sale info.
Trombone Shorty grew up in New Orleans’ historic Treme neighborhood and dreamed of one day hosting his own show at the legendary Saenger Theatre. His dream turned into reality in 2015 with the First Annual Treme Threauxdown, with help from a who’s who of New Orleans legends plus out-of-town special guests.
2017’s Treme Threauxdown will feature special guests Dumpstaphunk, as well as very special musical guests performing with Shorty and the band–some so big the band isn’t allowed to announce them.
“Coming from Treme, for me and my band to be able to take the Saenger stage each year in April is a real special thing,” says Shorty. “Every year we try to make the show bigger and better. We have it circled on the calendar and invite our favorite performers from around the world to play with us on our home stage. And that’s how we look at it–a big homecoming, especially this year. This is the show that kicks off our homecoming at Festival time.”
Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue are currently on a run of 30 dates supporting alternative music heroes Red Hot Chili Peppers on their North American Tour. Just last week, the New Orleans tour stop at the Smoothie King Arena featured a raucous finale with Shorty, Ivan Neville, George Porter, Jr. and Rebirth Brass Band joining the Chili Peppers on stage to play “Give It Away” for an “only in New Orleans” end to the evening.
