Trombone Shorty on September 26, will be making his debut appearance on PBS’s legendary Austin City Limits.
The live television program recorded yearly in Austin, Texas has been a staple in Music Television since it’s pilot episode aired in 1974, which brought Willie Nelson into the homes of millions of Americans. Since it’s inception, Austin City Limits has won not only the hearts of fans across the country, but also is the only television show to win the National Medal of Arts (2003) and in 2011 won the Peabody Prize Institutional Award “for its more than three decades of presenting and preserving eclectic American musical genres.”
The historic television program has featured artists across the spectrum of genres, including Ray Charles, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, Gary Clark Jr. and Alabama Shakes. Trombone Shorty is honored and excited to join the long list of brilliant musicians who have donned this hallowed stage.
